The Ripley County Chamber’s annual 5K run/walk will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015. Day-of registration is available outside of the historic Schuerman Law Office on the corner of Tyson and Main streets in Versailles from 7:00-7:50 a.m. for $15. The race begins at 8:00 a.m.
“We love celebrating Versailles on Courthouse Day,” says Attorney John Schuerman. “The Versailles community is important to us and we’re happy to be a part of it.”
Schuerman opted to restore an historic home in Versailles to serve as his office building when he learned of plans to demolish it in 1983. He purchased the home and moved it one block north to the present location at that time. The home, originally built around the year 1860, has been restored and preserved thanks to John’s efforts and commitment to the town of Versailles. The original home belonged to one of the town’s founding fathers and is an important piece of Versailles history.
The Schuerman Law Office provides water for runners and walkers at the Chamber 5k run/walk each year. If you participate, plan to stay in Versailles after the race for the 15th Annual American Legion Post 173 Car Show as well as the Lions Club’s famous chicken barbecue. Celebrate the Versailles community with this family-friendly event in the heart of town.
