Fireworks will be lighting up the sky this weekend in celebration of the Fourth of July. Don’t miss these activities and fireworks displays in Ripley County this July:
Ripley County Chamber Night Out/Fireworks: Crafts, food booths, and live music, followed by fireworks at dusk on Friday, July 4, 2014. Located at Ripley County Fairgrounds, 524 West Beech St., Osgood.
Milan Celebration in the Park: Milan Lions Fourth of July Parade 10 a.m., Friday, July 4, 2014. Town of Milan Fireworks will begin at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Daren Baker Memorial Park.
If you choose to light fireworks on your property this year, make sure that you are aware of the laws and be considerate of your neighbors. Be careful with fireworks and closely supervise children under the age of 18 who are using sparklers or using fireworks.
Individuals ages 18 and over are able to purchase fireworks in the state of Indiana. Fireworks may only be used on the user’s property, the property of an individual who granted permission for fireworks to be used, or a place that has been designated by the Indiana State Fire Marshal.
In Indiana, fireworks should only be set off between the hours of 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. any day of the year with the exclusion of Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and New Year’s Eve, when the cut off time is extended to midnight.
