Every September, the historic Versailles courthouse square is transformed for the annual Pumpkin Show festivities. We enjoy watching the hubbub leading up to the event from our office at the corner of Tyson and Main as carnival rides and food stands begin arriving in the middle of September. But by far the best part of the Pumpkin Show for us is the opportunity to catch up with everyone during the event.
Amidst a flurry of fall activity and back to school events, Versailles and the surrounding area slows down and congregates around the courthouse square during this one special week each year. It’s a great time to talk to everyone and meet new neighbors.
Our Pumpkin Show booth was a busy spot! We offered free single ride tickets for children accompanied by adults on Wednesday evening and hosted nightly prize drawings for Schuerman Law Firm duffle bags packed full of goodies. This year’s nightly prize drawing winners were:

- Christin LaMaster of Versailles, Indiana
We also held a grand prize drawing for a flat screen tv on Friday evening. The lucky winner was Jessica Schmidt of Holton, Indiana.
John and Kathy had a wonderful time seeing the games and rides through the eyes of their five grandchildren who were able to attend the event. After attending the annual parade on Saturday and providing water for the Pumpkin Show 5k on Sunday, we all felt like we had earned our naps! It was a busy and fun week and we are already looking forward to next year.
